Board of Directors works on a volunteer basis. Their immediate goals are to set the goals and policies, approve the lease price for the community center, establish rates for rentals and fundraise to purchase the leased property.

We are working with Board Member, Taylor Sekanovich, a Charleston commercial realtor to find a permanent home for Johns Island Performing and Visual Arts Center. We need a large open space for drama and dance classes with room for stage and seating for at least 100 people. Plus, smaller rooms for piano, guitar and voice lessons. This community center would be available for rentals by artists offering arts education, concerts or public performances. We’re open to building a structure, or leasing an existing stand alone building.
Drama Kids Charleston South is committed as a leasing anchor for the non-profit. The foundation is
currently accepting letters of interest from performing and visual arts groups or individuals interested in full or part time leasing of space.
The Johns Island Film Festival will host an annual event for young video directors.
Johns Island Performing Arts Center is actively seeking funding by donations to the non-profit, a South Carolina registered 501 (c) 3.
